Product Configurators
Product configurators — the customer chooses the variant, the system prices it and creates the quote
We build product configurators for companies that sell furniture, print, promotional items, joinery, panels, flooring or other products with many variants. The customer chooses the size, material, colour, add-ons and quantity step by step, and the system automatically calculates the price, checks the available options and generates a PDF quote or an order.
As a result, the salesperson does not have to calculate a quote by hand every time, the customer understands faster what they can order and how much it will cost, and the company gains a sales tool instead of yet another enquiry form.
- A step-by-step or single-screen configurator
- A live price calculator
- Variant compatibility rules
- 2D or 3D visualisation
- A PDF quote generator
- WooCommerce, CRM, ERP integration
A configurator works well if you sell
- made-to-measure furniture or furniture with many variants
- beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, desks, tables, worktops or fitted units
- printed products: leaflets, business cards, catalogues, labels, packaging
- promotional items with a logo
- window and door joinery
- panels, flooring, fences, gates, finishing elements
- B2B products that require individual pricing
- services whose price depends on several parameters
No more calculating every quote by hand
A configurator shortens the path from interest to a quote — the customer chooses the variant themselves, sees the price and receives a PDF or adds the product to the cart.
The customer chooses the variant and sees the price
A step-by-step configurator guides them through choosing parameters, and the calculator shows the price live. No need to write a message and wait for a quote from a salesperson.
Fewer repetitive enquiries to customer service
The customer does not ask about the price, the availability of variants or whether options are compatible — the system shows it straight away. Sales reps focus on real sales opportunities.
Fewer errors in quotes
The pricing formulas are set once. No one forgets a surcharge, a discount or a parameter. The risk of a mistake in a quote drops significantly.
An automatic PDF quote
After choosing a configuration the customer immediately receives a quote with the parameters, the price and the terms. The salesperson does not assemble the document by hand in Word.
A higher enquiry conversion rate
The customer is more likely to finish the process if they can see the price and variant themselves — instead of waiting for a reply by email. The configurator reduces the number of abandoned enquiries.
The configurator as a sales tool
It can work as a store module, a separate application, a panel for sales reps or a B2B configurator with customer price lists. Each option is matched to the sales process.
What can a configurator include?
Eight areas of features — from the step-by-step interface, through the price calculator and variant rules, to the PDF generator and integrations with systems.
Step-by-step interface (wizard)
- choosing the product category
- choosing the dimensions
- choosing the material
- choosing the colour
- choosing add-ons
- a configuration summary
- a contact/order form
- saving the configuration
Benefit: The customer does not see dozens of options at once — the system guides them step by step.
Live price calculator
- base price
- surcharges for variants
- quantity discounts
- price thresholds
- transport surcharge
- express delivery surcharge
- net/gross prices
- prices for B2B customers
Benefit: The salesperson does not calculate every quote by hand — the customer sees the cost faster.
Variant compatibility rules
- blocking unavailable combinations
- hiding incompatible options
- warnings for an invalid choice
- dependencies between parameters
- dimension limits
- technological or production rules
Benefit: The customer cannot choose a configuration that is impossible to make — the company receives fewer invalid enquiries.

- colour swapping
- material swapping
- a photo of the variant
- visualisation of add-ons
- a 2D preview
- a 3D model
- rotating the product

- customer details
- configuration parameters
- a photo or visualisation of the product
- net/gross price
- discounts
- validity date
- terms of delivery
- company footer

- adding the configuration to the cart
- saving parameters in the order
- online payment
- a quote for approval
- a product as an enquiry
- passing the data to the orders panel
Benefit: The configurator works as part of the store — the customer can go straight to placing an order.
CRM, ERP and production integration
- saving leads in a CRM
- passing the configuration to a salesperson
- quote statuses
- integration with production
- passing parameters to an ERP
- email/SMS notifications
- an enquiries dashboard
Benefit: The configurator is not a standalone form — it passes data to sales, production or the order system.

What does building a configurator look like?
Six stages — from the product workshop to the production launch and team training.
Product workshop
We analyse the product and the sales process: the variants, what the price depends on, which options can be combined and which exclude each other.
Effect: A map of variants, rules and pricing formulas — the basis for building the configurator.
Configurator UX design
We design the user journey: a step-by-step or single-screen configurator, embedded in the store or a separate quoting application. We decide when to show the price and capture the details.
Effect: The configurator is a well-thought-out path leading the customer to an enquiry or a purchase, not a random form.
Pricing logic design
We create formulas that calculate the price based on parameters: dimensions, quantity, material, colour, add-ons, discounts, transport and other variables.
Effect: The price is not calculated by hand — the system applies the set rules and reduces the risk of mistakes.
Building the configurator
We program the configurator, the views, the calculator, variant validation, the PDF generator, configuration saving and any required integrations.
Effect: A working tool is created that can be tested on real products.
Testing with the team and real variants
We check the configurator with sales reps, customer service or the production team. We test prices, variants, combinations, PDFs, emails and saves to the systems.
Effect: Before launch we catch incorrect prices, unclear steps and problems with variants.
Production launch and training
We launch the configurator on the site, in the store or as a separate application. We hand over documentation and train the team on handling enquiries, quotes and editing selected data.
Effect: The configurator is ready to work, and the team knows how to handle new enquiries and quotes.
Example configurators
Five typical configurators — with specific features and a benefit for sales.
Furniture configurator
Choosing the furniture type, dimensions, carcass colour, front colour, handles, worktop, legs, extra shelves, visualisation, pricing, PDF quote.
Benefit: The customer chooses the furniture variant themselves, and the salesperson receives a tidy configuration instead of an incomplete email.
Print configurator
Format, paper, weight, colour, print run, finishing, delivery time, shipping, an automatic price, a file to upload.
Benefit: The customer immediately sees how paper, print run and finishing affect the price — the printing house gets fewer simple enquiries.
Promotional items configurator
Choosing the product, colour, quantity, branding method, number of print colours, logo upload, preview, pricing, an enquiry.
Benefit: The customer prepares an initial configuration themselves, and the sales team receives all the information they need to follow up.
Joinery or window configurator
Dimensions, profile type, colour, glazing package, opening direction, ventilators, installation, transport, PDF quote.
Benefit: The system reduces invalid configurations and makes it faster to prepare a quote for a product that depends on many parameters.
B2B configurator for sales reps
Sales-rep login, individual prices, discounts, product variants, fast quoting, a PDF for the customer, a history of quotes, an approval status.
Benefit: Sales reps prepare quotes faster and to a single standard — the company controls price lists, discounts and history.

When does a configurator make sense?
Not every product needs a configurator
A configurator makes the most sense when the product has many variants, the price depends on parameters and manual quoting takes a lot of time. For simple products with a few variants, a standard variable product in WooCommerce is enough.
A configurator will be a good choice when:
- the customer has to choose several product parameters
- the price depends on dimensions, material, colour, quantity or add-ons
- sales reps often prepare similar quotes
- the customer needs visualisation before buying
- standard WooCommerce variants are not enough
- you want to generate PDF quotes automatically
- you want to reduce the number of incomplete enquiries
A configurator may not be needed when:
- the product has 2–3 simple variants
- the price does not depend on many parameters
- the customer needs neither a quote nor visualisation
- there is no problem handling enquiries manually
- a regular online store handles the sales well
What do we build configurators with?
We match the technology to the type of configurator. A simple price calculator needs a different solution than a 3D configurator connected with WooCommerce, CRM and production.
Vue 3 / React
A dynamic configurator interface.
Laravel / PHP
Business logic, prices, rules and integrations.
WooCommerce API
Connecting the configurator to the store.
Three.js
3D visualisations.
PDF generation
Automatic PDF quotes.
Tailwind CSS
A light, modern interface.

Want the customer to configure the product themselves and receive a quote?
Describe what product you sell, what the price depends on and which variants the customer has to choose. You do not need a finished technical specification — your current price list, a sample quote or the way a salesperson prepares a quote today is enough.
On that basis we will advise: whether a configurator makes sense, whether a simple calculator is enough, whether 2D or 3D visualisation is needed, how to plan the pricing formulas, whether it is worth integrating with WooCommerce and what budget to assume.
