Server Administration
Ongoing administration of your server, VPS and company infrastructure
A server works well until an update appears, the disk runs out of space, the database fails, there is a backup problem, a brute-force attack or a sudden spike in traffic. That is when a company needs not random help, but constant technical care.
We take over the administration of the server: we monitor how services run, carry out updates, check backups, respond to failures, analyse logs and look after performance. You do not have to hire your own administrator or rely on a freelancer who only replies when they find the time.
- 24/7 monitoring + alerts
- SLA 24h / 8h / 4h
- Backups + control + restore test
- Security updates
- An hour bank for minor work
- Monthly reports
Server administration is for
- e-commerce stores that must work every day
- companies with a web application on a VPS
- agencies maintaining clients’ sites
- owners of WordPress / WooCommerce servers
- companies that do not have their own administrator
- teams tired of the “IT person for everything”
- companies after a failure, malware infection or data loss
- businesses that want a predictable cost instead of sudden interventions
The server is not the owner’s problem
You do not have to watch backups, updates and alerts every day
If you run a store, an application or a site that generates enquiries, you should not have to wonder every day whether the backup ran, whether SSL is working, whether the disk space is running out and whether the security updates have been done. That is what server administration is for — we look after the technical back office so that you can focus on sales, customer service and growing the project.
What does constant server care give you?
Six benefits — mainly operational, financial and sales-related, not technical.
Fewer failures and a faster response
The server is monitored, and problems can be detected earlier. The company does not wait until a customer writes that the store is down or the form is not sending enquiries.
A predictable technical cost
Instead of paying for each failure separately and looking for an administrator during a crisis, the client has a fixed monthly cost. Easier budget planning, fewer random expenses.
Greater security
Regular updates, log analysis, a firewall, access control and monitoring reduce the risk of typical security problems. They do not give a full guarantee, but they significantly reduce the risk of neglect.
Better sales continuity
For a store, the server is part of the sales process. If WooCommerce, the database or payments stop working — the company loses orders. The care reduces the risk of such situations.
Less chaos with changes
You have an hour bank for minor work. You do not have to look for someone every time to add a domain, change PHP, configure SSL or check the logs.
Clear responsibility
It is clear who looks after the server, what work is in the package, what the response time is and what contact looks like. Better than responsibility scattered between the hosting provider, a freelancer and a developer.
What does server administration cover?
Seven areas of work — from monitoring, through updates and backups, to the hour bank and monthly reports.
Monitoring and incident response
- server availability monitoring
- monitoring of services: web, database, mail, applications
- CPU/RAM/disk monitoring
- email / SMS / Slack alerts
- response in line with the SLA
- restarting services when needed
- basic failure diagnosis
- root cause analysis of the problem
Benefit: Failures are detected earlier, and the response is set out in the SLA.
Updates and system maintenance
- security updates
- system package updates
- PHP version control
- control of server services
- compatibility checks after updates
- planning larger updates
Benefit: The server stays up to date and secure — without an “everything at once after a year” operation.
Backups and data recovery
- monitoring that backups are being made
- verifying the copies are correct
- backups of files / databases / configuration
- restore test
- backup retention recommendations
- a data restore procedure
Benefit: Backups are watched on an ongoing basis — you do not discover the problem only when a failure happens.
Server security
- log control
- analysis of unusual login attempts
- firewall (iptables / nftables)
- Fail2ban / csf
- basic SSH protection
- access recommendations
- SSL certificate control
- WAF in the higher packages
Benefit: Lower risk of simple attacks and expired certificates.
Performance and optimisation
- server load control
- analysis of slow queries and database problems
- cache optimisation
- cleaning up unnecessary resources
- scaling recommendations
- support with application problems
Benefit: The server runs faster, and performance problems are caught earlier.
Hour bank for changes
- adding a domain / subdomain
- changing the PHP version
- adding a user
- SSL configuration
- cache configuration
- minor server fixes
- technical consultations
- analysis of a problem reported by the client
Benefit: Minor changes carried out without charging separate hours for every ticket.
Reports and documentation
- a monthly server status report
- a list of the work carried out
- a list of the problems detected
- recommendations for the next month
- documentation of access and configuration
- a history of technical changes
Benefit: You know what you are paying for and what comes next — without a “black box”.
What exactly does the package include?
Eleven elements — from the starter audit to a dedicated account manager in the Enterprise package.
| Element | What we do | What it gives the company |
|---|---|---|
| Starter audit | we check the current state of the server, the risks and the urgent matters | you know what to fix first |
| SLA | response time 24h / 8h / 4h (depending on the package) | a clear declaration of when we respond to requests |
| 24/7 monitoring | availability, services, resources, certificates | failures detected earlier, alerts reach the right person |
| System updates | security packages + planned updates | the server stays current, without a “bomb” after a year of neglect |
| Backup control | verifying copies, retention, a restore test | the backup is watched on an ongoing basis |
| Security | firewall, Fail2ban / csf, log analysis, WAF (Pro+) | lower risk of simple attacks and takeovers |
| Hour bank | 1h (Basic) / 3h (Pro) / 8h (Enterprise) for minor work | minor changes without ticket charges |
| Monthly reports | what was done, what was detected, what to improve | full transparency of the administration team’s work |
| Security audit | monthly (Pro+) or quarterly | a systematic review of risks and configuration |
| Dedicated account manager (Enterprise) | a single point of contact | a shorter communication path, better understanding of the environment |
| Technical workshops (Enterprise) | quarterly meetings with the client’s team | joint planning of infrastructure development |
How does the care work step by step?
Seven stages — from the starter audit to quarterly reviews.
Starter audit
We check the current state of the server: system, services, backups, monitoring, logs, security, updates and access. We point out the biggest risks and things to fix at the start.
Effect: A real starting point — you know what to improve in the first week of care.
Defining the scope of care
We select the package and agree the SLA, the form of contact, the scope of monitoring, the list of critical services and the rules for using the hour bank.
Effect: A clear scope of care — without “guessing” what is in the package.
Configuring monitoring
We set up monitoring of the server, services, availability, resources and selected application elements. We establish who receives alerts and what the response looks like.
Effect: Failures detected earlier, alerts reach the right person.
Tidying up backups
We check whether backups cover files, databases and configuration. We verify that the copies are made correctly and that they can be restored.
Effect: Backups are genuinely controlled, not just “switched on”.
Ongoing administration
On an ongoing basis we carry out updates, monitor logs, respond to alerts, solve minor problems and handle changes within the hour bank.
Effect: The server has constant care — not just “from failure to failure”.
Monthly reports
The client receives information on what has been done, what problems were detected, which risks require a decision and what is worth improving next month.
Effect: You know what you are paying for and what comes next — without a “black box”.
Quarterly reviews
In the higher packages a deeper security review, a restore test and a conversation about the further development of the infrastructure.
Effect: A development plan, not just firefighting.
The most common scenarios
Five typical situations in which companies decide on constant server administration care.
A WooCommerce store needs constant care
The store runs on a VPS, with payments, integrations, orders and traffic from SEO and ad campaigns. A failure means real losses.
Effect: Monitoring, backups, updates and incident response — without your own administrator in the company.
A company has a VPS, but no one checks it regularly
The server was configured a long time ago. Updates, logs, backups, certificates and disk space — all uncontrolled.
Effect: Taking over the care, tidying up the environment, a plan of actions for the coming months.
An agency hosts clients’ sites
Many WordPress sites, a need for ongoing server administration, fewer failures and a faster response to clients’ problems.
Effect: A technical back office for the agency’s clients — without hiring your own DevOps.
A web application requires continuity of operation
The application serves customers, orders, forms or employees. The server must be monitored, and the response to failures agreed in advance.
Effect: SLA, runbook, monitoring of application services and clear responsibility.
A team does not want to hire an administrator
Your own administrator / DevOps is a large monthly cost. The company is looking for a middle-ground solution.
Effect: Regular technical support without creating a separate position and employment costs.

A freelancer, your own administrator or constant care?
A comparison of 8 areas — cost, availability, monitoring, backups, SLA, documentation, updates, scaling.
| Area | A freelancer “on call” | Your own administrator | Constant care |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Variable, often reactive | High employment cost | A fixed monthly subscription |
| Availability | Depends on the provider’s time | Constant during working hours | In line with the package and SLA |
| Monitoring | Often missing | Possible | In the package |
| Backups | Depends on the arrangements | Possible | In the package |
| Updates | On request | Regular | Regular |
| Documentation | Often limited | Depends on the standards | Part of the service |
| SLA | Rarely clearly defined | Internal | Defined in the package |
| Scaling | Depends on the skills | Good, but expensive | Possible within the partnership |
Server administration vs WordPress care
Services that are often confused. The best result for stores comes from combining both — care for the server and care for the application.
| Area | Server administration | WordPress / WooCommerce care |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | VPS, system, services, backups, security | Site, store, plugins, theme |
| Updates | Linux, PHP, database, services | WordPress, WooCommerce, plugins |
| Monitoring | Server and services | Site / store |
| Backups | Files, database, configuration, system | Site files and database |
| Problems | Server failures, services, resources | Site, plugin and store errors |
| Who it is for | A company with a VPS / infrastructure | A WordPress / WooCommerce owner |
What does the standard care not cover?
The care covers the server and the infrastructure. Larger development work, migrations and application development are quoted separately so there are no misunderstandings.
- large migrations between servers
- rebuilding the application
- redesigning the site
- writing new application features
- fixing bugs in the application code
- full content administration
- large development work
- handling a malware incident requiring a full site clean-up
- integrations with external systems
- around-the-clock on-call outside the agreed SLA
This work can be quoted separately or combined with another service — e.g. WordPress/WooCommerce care, VPS administration or application development.

Do not just pay for administration — buy peace of mind
Briefly describe your server / store / application: hosting/VPS, what is running, what the current problems are, whether you have backups and monitoring. We will propose a care package matched to the real scale of the project.
You are not paying for server administration. You are paying for a response to problems, control over the infrastructure and a lower risk of downtime in sales.
